What is SEO? And its On-page ranking factors to rank higher on Google:

The process of optimizing the website according to the search engine guidelines so that the site can rank higher on the desired keywords is called the SEO or search engine optimization.

Types of the SEO:

There are two types of SEO or search engine optimization:

  • On-page SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  •  Off-page SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

On-page SEO (Search Engine Optimization) factors:

On-page ranking factors play an essential role to rank your website higher on search engines like Google, Bing or Yahoo, etc. if they are correctly optimized. The most significant on-page SEO factors that affect search engine rankings are as below:

The content of the website page:

Now a day’s content is the king to rank on the search engines because the content is like the food of the search engines, the content which is the good in look and fresh as vegetable can that only preferred first by the search engines like Google, Bing, etc. at the top first position in the search results.

Title tag:

The title tag is the most crucial factor in the on-page SEO after the content of the web page. Whenever any user searches on the Google or other search engines then the title tag display in the search results and after reading that user can visit your website.


The URL of the website should have a category hierarchy of the given website which is reflected in the URL.

This URL clearly shows the hierarchy of the information on the page. This information is used to determine the relevancy of a given web page by the search engines like Google.

It is necessary to write the alt text in the images with your relevant service name so that search engines can read the category of your service and on the search results they can show your images and web page in the higher position.

The meta description is a description which is displayed by search engines in the search results after the title tag, so the meta description should be perfectly optimized according to your relevant services and targeted keywords, it should contain some important, relevant keywords to your services and its length should be 300 to 320 characters according to the latest guidelines of Google search engine.

Ideally Optimized Web Page:

An ideal web page should have all of the following:

  • Be hyper-relevant to a specific topic (usually a product or a single object)
    • Include subject in the title tag
    • Include subject in URL
    • Include subject in image alt text
    • Specify subject several times throughout text content
  • Provide unique content about a given topic
  • Link back to its category page
  • Link back to its subcategory page (If applicable)
  • Link back to its homepage (generally accomplished with an image link showing the website logo on the top left of a page)
